Beds - delivery and assembly
Beds, like all large pieces of furniture, will be delivered direct
to your home.
Once you've ordered your new bed - either online or from a
furniture store - you will need to arrange delivery. In most cases,
delivery is flexible, but some companies may have set delivery days that
you need to fit in with. An increasing number of companies that deliver
to domestic addresses are realising that it's not always convenient
to ask people to wait at home all day, and so can make special arrangements
for those who have to go to work or have other commitments. At Bed Next
Day, for example, our general deliveries are usually free but, for a small
charge, we can ensure that we deliver your bed before 9.30 - allowing
you to get back to work as soon as possible.
Comparing delivery charges
Not all companies deliver free of charge. It's worth checking out the
delivery prices before you commit to buying your bed - if the discount
you get on the beds and mattresses is outweighed by the delivery charge,
you can probably get a better bargain elsewhere. Some companies will make
free deliveries within a certain radius of their base and charge customers
who fall outside that area. Again, make sure you check the delivery arrangements
before you order - that's why we have a dedicated "Delivery"
section on our website.
If you live on the ground floor of an apartment block, make sure your
delivery company will bring the bed or mattress upstairs. If they are
unable to do this, ask some friends or family members to help move the
bed to your room.
Assembly
Will your bed supplier also assemble your bed? For certain divan bases,
there's limited assembly required and some people may prefer to
build the bed themselves. If you would rather that a professional handled
the assembly, however, be sure to check that your retailer offers this
service. Assembly may be included in the delivery charge, or it may be
an extra costs. Make sure that you know exactly how much you have to pay
for assembly before you decide to go ahead.
Bed Next Day sells a range of traditional single, double, king and superking
beds, most of which are available with next day delivery. Brands include
Silentnight, the Original Bedstead Company, Sprung Land and Sealy. Take
