Beds for tall people
Currently, a standard double bed is just 6'3" long - or 1.9m. Given that we don't usually lie in bed with our heads right against the headboard, this means that anyone over, say, 5'9 may find a standard double too short. It's recommended that you buy a bed that is 6" or 15cm longer than the tallest person sleeping in it. If you're 6'4" - not an uncommon height today - you'll need a bed that's 6'10" long. Whilst you can get beds custom-made for you - and if you're extremely tall, that's a good idea - you may find that a superking size bed will work for you. At Bed Next Day, several of our ranges are available in superking size, which is usually 6' wide by 6'6" long. With a good mattress, tall people should be able to get a good night's sleep in a superking bed - particularly as many people tend to sleep in a curled up position. A superking bed gives you both the length and the width you need to be supported and comfortable at night. If you or your partner have problems finding furniture or beds to accommodate your height, give us a call. We can talk you through the superking beds we have available and give you advice when it comes to trying and buying your next bed. Don't suffer any longer than you absolutely have to in a bed that's too small. You'll be amazed at the difference a new, longer, wider bed can make to your overall health and wellbeing. Bed Next Day sells a range of traditional single, double, king and superking beds, most of which are available with next day delivery. Brands include Silentnight, the Original Bedstead Company, Sprung Land and Sealy.
