Warranty piece of mind

Your mattress is warranted against faulty workmanship or defective materials for up to 5 years from date of purchase, depending on the level of warranty allocated to the product. All of our mattresses come with a 5 Year warranty with the following exceptions:

In the event that a product is found to have a defect/fault then you will be entailed to a percentage off a similar priced product:-

Examples based on a Mattress costing £100 which has a fault/defect:

 

Year 1	Replace free of Charge
Year 2	Customer pays £50 towards another mattress costing £100 – i.e 50% off
Year 3	Customer pays £60 towards another mattress costing £100 – i.e 40% off
Year 4	Customer pays £70 towards another mattress costing £100 – i.e 30% off
Year 5	Customer pays £80 towards another mattress costing £100 – i.e 20% off

 

Bedframes and Divan bases come with a 1 year guarantee.

If this event occurs within 1 year of purchase, the item will be repaired or replaced free of charge at the companies discretion. Thereafter, up to and including the 5th year, a service charge percentage of the current retail price will be levied. In the event that a mattress is replaced under warranty, then the new mattress will be delivered free of charge. It will be the responsibility of the customer to dispose of the old mattress. We reserve the right to refuse service should the complaint be due to causes other than a faulty manufacturer or defective materials. Or should the product be in an unhygienic condition.

If the product you have purchased develops a fault and we cannot assess the damage from a photograph, then we may need to inspect the product. As the inspection is carried out with an independent company there is a charge of £30.00. If the product is less than 6 months old we will arrange an inspection and the customer would only be liable for the inspection charge if the product is found to be not faulty. If the product is more than 6 months old we would require the customer to pay a deposit of £30.00 and would arrange the inspection. If the product is found to be faulty, the inspection deposit would be refunded.

Against that background, the standard provides for the following recommended tolerances in nominal dimensions: -

 

Divan bases and mattresses to be placed on divan bases

 

• The tolerance on width and length for divan bases and mattresses to be placed on divan bases is ±20mm.
• The tolerance on height for divan bases is ±10mm.
• The tolerance on height for mattresses to be placed on divan bases is ±10mm or 10%, whichever is the lower.

 

Beds and bed bases

 

The tolerance on the internal frame dimension of bedsteads and bed bases (ie the area into which the mattress is to be placed) is between -0mm and +5mm.

 

Bases and mattresses designed to fit into bed bases

 

The tolerance on both length and width for mattresses designed to fit into bed base, is between +0mm and -20mm. The tolerance on height mattresses designed to fit into bed bases is ±10mm or 10% whichever is the lower. The tolerance on width for framed bases and framed sprung mattresses (ie those which are designed to be placed inside a bedstead or bed base) is between -5mm and -20mm. The tolerance on length for framed bases and framed sprung mattresses (ie those which are designed to be placed inside a bedstead or bed base) is between -10mm and -40mm. The tolerance on width for unframed slatted bases designed to be placed inside a bedstead or a bed base is between -5mm and -10mm. The tolerance on length for unframed slatted bases designed to be placed inside a bedstead or a bed base is between -10mm and -100mm. (The reason why the highest tolerance is as much as 100mm is that the first and last slats can be placed up to 50mm from both the head end and the foot end.)

A Notice for Memory Foam Mattresses

 

All memory foam mattresses and products give off a distinctive odour once opened. This is normal and the smell is a by-product of the manufacturing process. This 'new foam' smell is safe and non-toxic and does not trigger allergies, but it can bother people who are sensitive to smells.

 

Our memory foam mattresses are aired out for several days after manufacturing, but if the smell is still too strong for you when you unpack the mattress then it is advisable, if possible, to let the mattress air for a day or two in a well ventilated room before use. If the smell doesn't bother you then feel free to sleep away!

 

The smell should ease up after anything between a couple of days and a week or so, depending on the memory foam mattress production date, the environment you have it in, and how sensitive you are to the smell.

 

To help speed up the process though, here are some more tips - Keep the room with the mattress in well aired. Wash the sheets after the first night or two, and repeat as necessary. For some, a dish of vinegar by the bed can help neutralise the odours. Ozone generators or air filtration can help if you have access to one.
