The Pillow Trick (Side Sleepers)
If you tend to sleep on your side with 2 pillows under your head. That could be where you’re going wrong. When sleeping on your side it pushes your spine out of line and can eventually cause an onslaught of back pain. Pillows are your best friend in this case, when used correctly. Place a pillow in between your knees as well as under your head. This combination will ensure your spine is inline. Plus, it’s pretty damn comfy.
The Pillow Trick (Back Sleepers)
The pillow trick applies to back sleepers, too. Sleeping with two pillows under your head on your back puts your neck at an angle and will again, lead to back pain. To avoid the dreaded creaky back in the morning, place a pillow under the backs of your knees and under the head.
Mattress is Key
If there’s one thing to invest in, it’s definitely your mattress. You spend on average 8 hours per day on the thing and if it’s not suitable for your body, it will lead to back pain. Which mattress you choose entirely depends on how you sleep every night, your weight and of course, preference. If you sleep on your back, a medium firm mattress is perfect.
