Why pay more for luxury mattresses?

Purchasing a luxury mattress is definitely not for the bargain shopper who gets easily intimated by item sticker prices. This is because at first glance, handmade mattresses can easily cost as much as 50% more than a comparative mid-range mattress. But if you are truly serious about investing in your sleeping needs, then bargain mattresses will fall short of your expectations.

Luxury mattresses have higher price points for two reasons: first, they are constructed out of premium materials and incorporate the latest in mattress technology, which naturally drives up cost; second, they are hand-assembled, not mass-produced. This results in a product which can be rather pricey, but which feels absolutely (for lack of a better word and at the risk of sounding redundant) luxurious.

In some ways though, buying a luxury mattress can turn out to be the smarter choice, especially when taking into consideration the fact that they can last longer than a mediocre one. For instance, a point by point comparison of a high-end mattress versus a midrange mattress will reveal that the former has more features which help it withstand wear and tear better—in short, it can feel as good as it did when you first bought it. The uncompromising sleeper, who may refuse to settle for a mattress which does not provide less than the perfect amount of support, will definitely be unsatisfied once a midrange mattress loses its initial springiness.

Other winning features include excellent construction design to eliminate tossing and turning during the night, reinforced structure to equalize the greater amounts of pressure on the heavier parts of the body, better temperature control, and comfortable mattress covering which manages moisture and inhibits bacterial growth much better than the conventional material.
