Our beds are arguably the most important piece of furniture in the house. On average, we spend 8 solid hours in them a night. Investing in them from time to time seems logical but how often should you change your pillows, duvet and mattress? Turns out, it's probably more often than you think...

Generally, they become lumpy and flat over time. The lifespan of a pillow varies from 6 months to 3 years. Dependant on allergies or the quality of the pillow you purchased, to begin with. If you buy a high-quality pillow, it will last a lot longer in the long run.
If you suffer from allergies and find your allergies are getting worse, it's time to ditch the pillow. Dust mites can settle in quite quickly and it's good to replace your pillow every 3-6 months.

will last the 5 years, a poor quaily duvet will start to show signs of wear and tear after just 1 year.
It's best to use your judgement. If your duvet isn't quite as fluffy as it used to be, it could be time to switch it up. The best way to avoid duvets having a short lifespan is to invest in seasonal duvets. Having a separate duvet for summer and winter months is not only more hygienic, it stops the duvet living on the floor on those hot summers nights collecting dust.
