MattressNextDay Announces Partnership With Ecologi

Here at MattressNextDay, we are delighted to announce that we will be partnering with global environmental organisation, Ecologi, to step up our efforts in combating the climate crisis.

Ecologi is a platform for real climate action and in 2021, the company was established as a certified B Corporation. Ecologi facilitates the funding of carbon reduction projects and tree planting around the world. Furthermore, providing a simple but powerful subscription service to reverse climate change.

To date, the company has planted over 37 million trees on the behalf of its subscribers and funded climate solution projects that have reduced over 1.55 million tonnes of CO2. Their mission is to reduce 50% of global CO2 emissions by 2040 and responsibly plant billions of trees every year.

To help Ecologi achieve it’s mission, as well as our mission in being more sustainable, we have pledged to plant 1 million trees by 2030. To reach this huge milestone, we will be planting a tree for every online order, and with Ecologi’s support, we have become an official Climate Positive Workforce, committing to plant over 500 trees per month to help offset our workforce’s carbon footprint.

Our CEO, Martin Seeley, said:
“We have been looking for different ways to showcase our support to eco-green projects for some time, and now we are delighted to be a part of the Ecologi team. The work that Ecologi has done for the past couple of years has been incredible, from generating clean electricity in countries like India to protecting and preserving forests all over the world, including the Amazon rainforest.”

Our partnership with Ecologi is not the only thing we are doing to help the environment, with Martin adding, “We have also been working on other parts of the business operations to raise our sustainability efforts. We recently completed our transition to a more modern fleet with a long-term goal of moving to electric vans to reduce carbon emissions even further”.

MattressNextDay already provides a disposal and recycling service for customers, so that no mattresses end up in landfill. Furthermore, we will be looking to move away from plastic packaging, and find more environmentally-friendly alternatives. Martin said: “We are already in discussions with our manufacturers about greener packaging, and it’s looking optimistic that we can help make these changes happen.”

Martin concluded, “this is all exciting to be a part of, and hopefully, the work we do can really make a difference in making our planet more sustainable”.

Ecologi have also said that they are thrilled to be partnering with us. With Linda Adams, Head of Partnerships at Ecologi, said: “We are really pleased that such an eco-conscious company like MattressNextDay has partnered with us to help them on their journey to becoming more sustainable.”

“Their dedication to the cause is evident, committing to planting 1 million trees by 2030, which will have a significant impact in sequestering thousands of tonnes of carbon from the atmosphere during that time. It’s encouraging to see the company is taking so many steps to reduce its carbon footprint and we hope more companies in the space follow their lead and play their part in this collective effort to combat climate change.”
