How to wake up feeling revitalised
Do you have difficulty getting out of bed in the morning? Here at Mattressnextday, we believe that waking up refreshed is just as important as getting to sleep easily or being able to sleep undisturbed. If you often wake up feeling groggy and unwilling to get out of bed, it may be because of your sleep patterns or sleeping conditions. As such, we can offer you a variety of tips that are designed to help you wake up refreshed and energised.
1. Always go to bed before midnight
Going to sleep after midnight can have a negative effect on your natural circadian rhythms. Even if you get the right amount of sleep, if you got to bed after midnight, the quality of your sleep may not be very high. By ensuring that you go to bed in a timely fashion, you can help yourself wake up more easily the next morning. What’s more, you’ll feel more awake and aware for the rest of the day.
2. Check the consistency of your mattress
If your mattress is too hard, it may cause joint pain or aches (as we discussed in our last blog entry). If you wake up with pain in your joints or muscles, you may find that you are unwilling to get out of bed. If you go back to sleep as a result, you are likely to wake up feeling even achier and a little woolly-headed. Sometimes, the best way to ensure that you wake up properly is to invest in a mattress that’s firm enough to support you, but soft enough to be comfortable.
3. Avoid consuming caffeine and alcohol before going to sleep
Caffeine and alcohol can affect your sleep patterns and reduce the quality of your sleep. Avoiding taking them before bedtime and you will wake up feeling alert and healthy.
Here at Mattressnextday, we understand how important it is to wake feeling fully refreshed. Getting a good night’s sleep should have a revitalising effect that enables you to face whatever the next day throws at you. By following the tips we have provided here, you can ensure that you wake up with a smile on your face.
