Great product. Just a little disconcerting that it arrived in a box. I had to take it up the stairs. As its very heavy it was difficult and even more difficult to unpack it as it seems to be vacuum packed. Once open it soon plumped up.

Great comfortable mattress at a reasonable price. Old mattress taken away for recycling and a tree gets planted as well! excellent service with a quick delivery - would highly recommend.

Why are pillowcases important?

You shouldn’t underestimate the importance of a pillowcase - they are more than just a way to enhance the aesthetic of your bed.

Pillowcases allow you to wash and remove the bacteria that has built up on your pillow from contact with your face, preventing breakouts and improving the hygiene of your sleeping environment.

How often should you wash your pillowcases?

Our product experts recommend you change your pillowcases up to 3 times a week, as oils, sweat and general bacteria from your face and hair quickly build up.

If you don’t wash your pillowcases frequently, you’ll find you are more likely to suffer from breakouts and greasy hair, as the dirt will attach itself to you as you sleep. We recommend keeping a good stash of quality pillowcases clean and ready to use for frequent bed sheet changes.

What is the standard pillowcase size?

The standard UK pillowcase size is 48 x 74cm / 19 x 29 inches. You can also find king size pillowcases that measure 48 x 88cm / 19 x 35 inches.

You might also want a large pillowcase for a memory foam pillow, however you should note that a king size pillowcase will be too long. For a memory foam pillow, you can simply use a standard UK pillowcase.

Why are silk pillowcases good?

Silk pillowcases are great if you suffer from bad acne or hair breakage. The main benefit of a silk pillowcase is that it causes less friction, resulting in less damage to your hair, and absorbs less oils and bacteria, preventing spots and breakouts.

What is the best pillowcase?

The best pillowcases are made from breathable materials, such as cotton, as this helps to wick away excess moisture and keep you fresh.

Our range of Silentnight pillowcases are made from a soft microfibre material, which has been specially develped to offer you a clean, cool and hygienic night's sleep. This soft material makes our Silentnight pillowcases the best on the market, with hypoallergenic properties that help those with allergies get a better night's sleep.
