At MattressNextDay, we believe that promoting the wellbeing of our employees is key to supporting a positive and productive workplace. That’s why we’ve launched the Staff Wellbeing Initiative–a program driven by our own staff members to cultivate a happier work environment, and one that gives back to the local community.

Cycle to work scheme

Physical wellness is vital for a happy mind, so we encourage staff to cycle to work. This also helps to reduce our carbon footprint!

Driving an employee-led movement

The wellbeing initiative belongs to our team. Defined and driven by staff voices, needs, and ideas, we can create a positive change from within. While we won’t be able to buy everyone a private jet just yet, every single idea from any member of staff will be considered and implemented where possible.

Partnering with local charities

Our fundraising work with local charity, The Fifth Trust, builds a real sense of achievement by making a positive impact outside of our staff’s regular work. This partnership promotes a sense of community and connection outside of the workplace, all while supporting a truly important cause. We also have collection points in our office and warehouse for staff to donate items for the local food bank.

Fostering job satisfaction

When our team members find fulfillment in their roles, it empowers them to bring their best selves to work each day. We're committed to enriching everyone’s work day, every day. We want every member of our team, from customer services to marketing to finance, to feel they can flourish and develop not only their workplace skills but their personal skills too.

Prioritising a work/life balance

While we know that every member of the MattressNextDay team lives and breathes mattresses while they’re here, we want them to put ‘mind over mattress’ when they’re at home. Sticking to regular working hours and not taking work home, taking regular breaks in the office, and help with managing large tasks means achieving a good balance between home and work, with work being part of our day, but not all-encompassing.

How our initiative works

We encourage staff to make anonymous suggestions for workplace improvements via suggestions boxes dotted around our offices and warehouse.

Our Staff Wellbeing Coordinator then meets with the Directors to discuss these suggestions and make as many positive changes as possible. A frequent Wellbeing Newsletter keeps everyone up-to-date on what’s been happening!

We particularly pride ourselves on focusing on professional growth workshops, mental health support, and team building and social events, plus much more!

We're building a dream team at MattressNextDay, and that means prioritising staff happiness.
